In this video, I shared a sentenced that is currently very often seen in Israeli tattoo parlors:

לא נשכח ולא נסלח

with nikkud (only for this blog, not common in Israel):

לֹא נִשְׁכַּח וְלֹא נִסְלַח

"We will not forget, we will not forgive".

Let us take a look at the verbs here. What do we see?

לֹא נִשְׁכַּח וְלֹא נִסְלַח

Those of you, who have taken the verb course, you see it instantly, right? We are looking at two paal verbs:

  • to forget (לִשְׁכּוֹחַ)

  • to forgive (לִסְלוֹחַ)

How do we know it is paal? Because this is the paal future tense pattern of the first person plural ("we"), a nun before the root. Done.

Are you sonsidering our verb course but you are not sure yet? Get our newsletter, watch Rut's videos to see her teaching style.
